A Real Start to Kindergarten

Adleigh waited all summer long to go to school...and what does the school do?

NOT let them start when all the other grades do...

but that isn't all...

Then they let them go ONE day...

to then wait a day...

to then start going for "real."

I hate stagger start.

The school says they do it for the kindergarteners BUT that is so not the case.

Can't figure out why...because ALL.THE.KIDS.ARE.READY to start!

So here is her REAL first day of school...5 days after her older siblings started :( - okay, my rant is over!

Try telling her she isn't going to school...I got some attitude!

She just HAD to point out her new shoes!! Seriously this girl could own every shoe in the world and it wouldn't be enough...I so don't understand the shoe thing - I am good with flip flops - she needs a different pair with each outfit!

1st Day of School 2013

Can't believe that the summer is already over?

Where did the time go?

I really like summer...no schedule, no crazy activity or sport practice...

Just relaxing...swimming...and doing nothing. Well, except that I made my children do school all summer - oops! :-) Thought I would help them get ahead!

Adleigh

Kindergarten

My sweet baby girl is leaving me. She has been so excited to start kindergarten. She wants to be like her big siblings. I am not ready to let her go. She has been my security blanket for so many years - she is my buddy. She has always been the there to pick me up on my tough days. She made me happy in my weakest moments. I understand her like NO ONE else does. There will always be a special bond between us...something that I can't put into words but it's unique and really hard for me to let go...even if it is just for 2.5 hours for kindergarten. I cried the entire walk to the car...okay and a little bit on the drive home too.

Braia
2nd Grade
Our ity-bity preemie is such a big girl. I wasn't too worried about who her teacher was going to be this year until I found out who it was...the same teacher that Zeke had when Beckett died. I freaked inside - my stomach tightened up. Although, we had a ton of problems that year (mostly due to Zeke traumatic experience) I know that Braia will excel in his class. She is super smart and a good student. I think my freak out was because it was having something the same as we had when my whole world fell apart. Now that it has sunk it I am excited for her and what is it come this year for her at school.

Tatum
3rd Grade
My baby girl is half way through elementary school. She is so bright and full of life. Her teacher IS lucky to have her in her class. She is the most sensitive and empathic child there is. She is so excited to start 3rd grade and really feels like a big kid now. She let me walk her to class but didn't want her friends to see her have a "bazillion" pictures taken of her. Luckily for me, we were late because we were dropping off her siblings and her class room is in the BACK of the school...so it was just her. She had to bang on the door for her teacher to open it - I felt a little bad that she was late on the first day but we might as well get the teacher use to the Elder's running a few minutes behind!

Zeke
5th Grade
The oldest in the school. He has waited for this day. He is SO happy that he can now rule the school. And be able to play an instrument. He has already picked to play the trumpet...seriously can our house handle THAT noise as well with the ciaos going on!? He didn't get the teacher that I really wanted BUT he seems really pleased with his teacher and he is super excited to have 2 of his best friends in class. He was even more excited when he walked into class on the first day and realized that he was sitting in between those 2 friends! The little things...

No School
Can't forget this tiny little man. I am saying this now...he is NEVER starting school. He is always going to hang out with me at home - forever. He promised me!!!

What!? Tiggers is TWO!!??

My baby is getting so big. He is turning into a crazy, wild, funny, sarcastic BOY-BOY! He is definitely all boy. He is a superman, batman, spiderman, motorcycle lovin' kinda kid. He LOVES motorcycles and every time we pass one in the car (or they pass us!) he yells at us to look and then starts brmmmmm in the back sittin'. Then begins to tell us:

"I ride 'em."

He is JED'S kid!

His birthday started off with DONUTS. Yum.

We decided that it was about time to get his first hair cut. He did not know what to think when the lady started cutting his hair. When she was done I wish I hadn't done it because he looked so much older. His golden locks were cut off and a little boy totally emerged! Of course he did sort of have a mullet - so it really did need to be cut - hehe

Waiting for the party to begin...what better way than jumpin' around - well, as long as he doesn't break anything!!

Eating dinner - of course he only cared about the WATERMELON! His favorite thing to eat but don't try to tease him about it...

I love that his siblings wrapped up some of their old gifts for him - he really enjoyed them!

Funny thing about this picture is that we were joking around with him and told him to ride his new motorcycle (the small toy in his hands) and he put it between his legs and starts galloping around - it was so funny!!
