9 Years Flew By

October 30, 2002 at 2:02pm
I know that I write all the time about how wonderful my kid's are...and they are :) ...but I really want to focus on my Birthday Boy. 9 years ago he came into this world SO wanted and LOVED by everyone who met him. He was beautiful. I never put him down and rarely let anyone else hold him...or touch him! Every since the moment I got my hands on him he has been a mommas boy. He is my biggest helper and is an AWESOME brother. He loves his siblings and treats them so well. He is growing into a young man before my eyes and its crazy that he is already 9 years old...what has happened to the last 9 years!?
My Zekers,
We love you so much! We are so proud at the person you are becoming. We wanted you so much. You make our family so happy...you bring SO much joy into our home! Keep you sweet spirit...beautiful character...and wonderful heart!

Love you much,
Mommy!

Zeke didn't get to have a friends birthday party this year (we do one every other year) but we decided he could pick a couple of friends and take them bowling - so it basically turned into a mini-party.  We celebrated with the family on Sunday...he ended up getting a DOUBLE gift :)  Great minds must think alike, right Dad!?  :)

4 months

This little man came into our lives 4 months ago and our world has been SO happy with him in it.  He has brought so much happiness, excitement and fun into our family.  Tigs has brought some HOPE back into my life and makes ME so excited to see him grow each day.  I have watched him change daily...discover new things...to see his beautiful face every time I wake up in the morning is like a burst of fresh air.  He most definitely IS my RAINBOW.

My last compare that I can do...with all SIX kid's.
Sad.
But truth.

4 Months old...who does he look like???

PICTURES OF EACH CHILD in order (Zee, Tay, Bray, Addie and Beck) WITH TIGGERS AT 4 MONTHS

4 Mos. Stats

My big baby is Healthy!
He is my biggest baby to date - by 1 oz (Zee was 1oz smaller at 4 mos.) and he is at least  2 inches taller than ALL the other children were at 4 mos of age :0 WOW!  Not sure where he got the length from but YEA!

Carving Me Some Pumpkins!

After playing in the newly fallin' snow...getting very cold...the kid's wandered in wanting to carve the pumpkins and since Jed's schedule is SO weird tonight happened to be the only night that we could do it all together.  Thinking that Zee is FINALLY old enough to really help carve the pumpkin...and me, just wanting to watch OR play on the computer :) ...got to completely help Dad and basically carve his own pumpkin.  I do think next year we are going to have to have at least 3 pumpkins, the girls were pretty bummed that they didn't get to do one (but their attention span is about 2 minutes, so I'll probably get stuck finishing it...wait, what am I kidding, Jed will end of finishing it!)  So here was our evening...drinking so yummy hot chocolate, easting some of my chili and carving our these yucky pumpkins!

Her Own Room

Tay was excited to move into our new house because...she finally gets her OWN room AND with a FULL size bed!  My mom was excited for her and asked if she could decorate her room.  So THANKS to my mom (and Dad) for doing everything in Tay's room!  She LOVES it...well, NOW she does :)  She had trouble at first going to bed, the first night we moved in she was SO afraid to sleep by herself.  She came downstairs after being up in bed for 5 minutes...completely crying.  She desperately wanted to sleep in Bray/Addie's room.  We told her that if she shared a room that night then it would only be fair to give the room to Bray (who REALLY wanted her own room).  She ended up falling asleep with the promise that we would get her an iPod radio so she can play music to fall asleep to!
Her FAV part of her new room is the Vanity AND Jewelry box!
And YES, Mom I know...she isn't suppose to be laying on her new bedspread BUT I needed a picture!

Healing from the OUTSIDE in

This month we have been wearing our Beck-Pins.  October is infant/pregnancy loss awareness month and I wanted to wear something that represented my baby boy.  So I made these on cafepress and ordered enough for everyone.  My kids were very excited when they arrived and all begged to wear one...even Zee.  Curiously  wondering why he would want to wear one when he doesn't like Beck brought up at school, I went with it and didn't say anything.  He has been so proud to wear it to school almost everyday.  Recently, he has met a fellow student that lost her baby brother this past summer, completely different circumstances but both are grieving similar things, and I think knowing someone else...at a familiar place, school...is letting him know that he isn't so different or alone.  Most of his support groups deals with loss in a whole...and most times he is the only one at group that has lost a sibling.  I think its hard for him to relate to another peer that is dealing with the loss of a parent, grandparent, etc...very different grief paths.  Children dying confuse children because they now know that EVERYONE and ANYONE can die, I think it is a hard concept for children to understand, probably why my girls for the longest time thought ALL babies die.  Anyways, this little girl has been so good for Zee.  I am seeing a change in him...he's dealing, coping...it can only get better from here.  I have heard him talk about Beck more, he isn't as uncomfortable when Beck's name is brought up...AND he blew him a kiss (something we do every time we leave his grave) the other night without us reminding/pushing him (WOW!).  I think my little boy has finally put a band aid on his broken heart.  Now I'm just praying that the band aid doesn't get ripped off (like mines so often does) and the healing can really begin.

Maybe we will...or I will...continue to wear our Beck-Pins, I think everyone should be aware that SIDS happens.  I love being able to wear his beautiful face whereever I go...you know me, I LOVE when people ask, "Who Is that?"

He is my angel!

Breckenridge 2011

Oh, How I Love Thee, Vacation!

We usually go to Breckenridge every Fall season and thanks to my parents we were able to go again this year!  We got to stay in their incredibly nice condos - swimming in some great pools - relax in some wonderfully hot hot tubs - and eat at the best pizza place in all of Colorado.  As well as, see our first bit of snow, walk down the streets of Breck and travel around the city of Silverthorn shopping at the great outlets!

Along with all of that fun...we got to have a movie night with the kids - staying up till O'Dark'O'Hour - eating Ice Cream and watching 'Mars Needs Moms.'  Chasing them down the hallway with the stroller - yes, I did a little running in the hallway, oops, sometimes I can't help but act like I am a 6 year old!  We played a few board games, read some books, did a couple of puzzles (who knew that a 5, 6 and 8 year old could tackle a 300 piece puzzle - even Jed and I were going crazy trying to figure out an ALL blue puzzle).  Swimming at least TWO times a day - that will put a little dryness into your skin.  We were gone 4 days and had a WONDERFUL time with the family.  Hoping they always remember these trips up to the mountains.  They were so excited to have Tiggers there with us.  I had to keep telling them that Beck never got to go up to Breckenridge with us - they were confused and kept saying 'remember when Beck was here with us..."  How I wish that he could be here with us to experience all these family moments.

This might be a bit of a picture overload - you've been warned!

Ain't this shirt SO Addie!!!  :)
Perfect picture for our Bray-Bear!!
