Happy Birthday to Addie!
My baby girl came into this world 4 years ago today. Wow. From day one she has made me completely happy. She is a joy. She has a contagious smile. She has a heart of gold. Addie has the ability to turn a horrible, sad day into a cheerful one. I know I've said it before but I honestly don't know if I would have made it this past year without her. She allowed me to baby her...cuddle her...and has told me words of wisdom countless times.

She was born on a Tuesday evening. Everyone expected her to be born fast because the past deliveries went fast once the induction started. My doctor wanted to just "watch" things and see if I progress on my own...so it turned into my LONGEST labor, not painful at all though. After feeling EVERY amount of pain with Bray, I told my doc that I didn't want to feel ANY pain - and the doc did good :) I got my epidural before anything started and never felt one ounce of pain - yah! The moment she was born she was laid upon my chest and I remember thinking how adorable she was...she was so tiny!

Addie was a very sick child. She was a momma's girl probably because she never felt well. She was a great baby. She was quiet (hm, isn't that way anymore). She always wanted to follow her older siblings around. She thought she was a big girl from the beginning. She was easy to take anywhere. I remember shopping with her, taking her to the zoo, swimming, etc. in tow with the other 3 kids and thinking how unbelievably EASY it was. She was always happy as long as she was involved with whatever was going on.
Addie was so fun when she got to the "walking" age. She was a little clumsy BUT loved climbing up and down (and back up!) the stairs ALL DAY LONG. She was very active. She use to make the stink face (see in the pic below) and it was SO funny - she would make it if she was mad...happy...angry...or just sitting around. It was the funniest face!

Everyone was so nervous when it was time for her to become a big sister. I have to admit that she was a spoiled rotten baby girl (and probably still is). Thinking that she was my last, I gave her everything she ever wanted...mostly my attention. The neat thing was...she loved Beck. She took care of him. She was always wanting to hold him, help him and LOVED calling him, "My baby." I do think things happen for a reason and I think that Beck and Addie had a special relationship up in Heaven...she probably promised him that she would be EXTRA nice while he was here because everyone needed to spend every moment of time with HIM...she was amazing during his 4 months. She was the BEST big sister to her baby.
This year I have seen SO much improvement in her growth from a toddler into a big girl. She is talking so much and has the neatest things to say. She has a VERY sarcastic humor about her. She loves to laugh and make others laugh. She is a ray of sunshine in our home.
Love you my Add-a-Licious!!
So...she got to have a party this year. She was SO excited to share her birthday with her friends. Too bad that I planned it Thanksgiving weekend and most of her friends were out of town - but we have a great time with everyone that could make it. We had a VERY relaxed party making candy necklaces and play with play-do. Once the party was over I overheard her say, "that was the best party," to herself while she was getting her shoes on. Totally cute! Here are pictures from her birthday party.
