I kept ADLEIGH and BRAIA home from church today because ADDIE was up all night cough and really didn't get a good nights sleep. I figured she felt sick. So I stayed home and JED took the older two to church.
It was a pretty low day.

We went to the YMCA early this morning.
My mom asked me to make a picture video of Benjamin's life, he turns 30 on the 24th. So she brought over a TON of pictures. I spent the afternoon scanning them in :(
JED didn't have school this week but he had one LAST job to do and so he took ZEKE with him to finish it!

We all got up and went to the YMCA.
I did laundry all day because we had gotten behind.
I also spent more time working on BEN'S video project. It seems to be coming out well.
The kid's got bored and so I pulled out our Slip N Slide that I have NEVER opened (we have had for a couple of years). It was actually alot of fun. JED got home and did it with them. I even went down a few times, haha

We went to the YMCA.
We hung around home. I started packing for our trip to Glenwood this weekend.
I met DEB for dinner at Carraba's. It was so fun to get out and go to dinner with a good friend.
JED didn't have to do to school again tonight :)

After the YMCA, we went shopping for supplies for our trip tomorrow.
We spent the afternoon getting the house cleaned and finish packing.
JED worked at BB tonight!

We woke up early and got the car ready and left for Glennwood Springs. We were all way excited to get away for a long weekend. JED really needed a vacation. We really wanted to enjoy ourselves so for the FIRST time we decided NOT to worry about how much things cost and just have a good time!
When we arrived we went to the Adventure Caverns and rode a Gondola up the mountains to the park. BRAIA was so nervous riding up and I have to admit I was too. I do not like heights!
We went on a cave tour. When I found out it was 2 hours long, I freaked, thinking my kids would definitely not last. They did wonderful, they really enjoyed it and thought it was cool.
TATUM and ZEKE got to bungee jump.
JED rode a bull, haha

When went swimming once we checked in at the hotel. It was so HOT up there.
After dinner, we took a walk around downtown and ended up getting ice cream.
We walked home and went to bed. It was a BIG busy day.

Saturday, July 18, 2009

We slept in and then went down to the breakfast the hotel offered, it was actually a really good contenetial breakfast. We decided to go on a walk to this Memorial park that is for Firefighters that died in the 1994 fire, I didn't really know about but it was neat to walk there (so pretty) and then read the stories about those that died. We then played at the park.
We walked to the Train Station hoping to see a train up close but there wasn't one.
We took the kid's to Glennwood HOT SPRINGS. It was a HOT day and the water felt great. ADLEIGH had a big cut on her leg so she really didn't enjoy the water, it was salt water. Poor girl! We rode the slides and laid out in the sun. It was so much fun.

We then went back to the hotel for a desperately needed NAP. After nap and dinner, the kid's wanted to go swimming AGAIN. So we just swan at the hotel pool. Hopefully enough to wear them out :)
We took a walk around town again this evening and then headed back to the our room and went to bed.

JED made waffles for breakfast.
We went to church at 11am.
We made a roast for dinner which turned out really well. Although, the kid's didn't eat it!
JED did Family Home Evening tonight because he is gone most Mondays.
My parents came over for dessert.

We went to the YMCA early.
ZEKE and TATUM started their Learn to Ice Skate camp, I was so surprised after 2.5 hours how good they have gotten, they will be able to skate circles around me by the end of the week!
Met ZEKE'S friend Carson (and his mom and brother) at the Longmont pool for lunch and swim. The kid's had a great time, we ended up swimming for 3 hours, TATUM got a great idea to MOON the whole pool, she thought it was so funny!
ADLEIGH got a little sunburned on her face :(
JED had school tonight.

We went to the YMCA.
ZEKE and TATUM had their Skate camp again today.
We then met NIKKI at her neighborhood pool to swim. It was nice of her to let us come by and it was a great pool. ZEKE enjoyed the deep end, he likes to throw things underwater and then swim down to them!
Side note - Michael Jackson died today - crazy, I was never a huge fan but it is sad, I feel for his kids!
JED worked till 9:30pm tonight!

We left for the YMCA this morning at 8:30am.
TATUM went to her Ice Skating camp this morning. ZEKE woke up not feeling good and ended up having some gastro bug. He spent the whole morning in the bathroom, poor guy! Although, it was so NICE having an older kid sick that can take care of themselves and make it to the toilet :) He felt better by the afternoon!
JED had school tonight.

ZEKE woke up FINE this morning, I was a little nervous to let him go to the YMCA, so I kept him out of the child care. He did end up doing the ice skating camp, along with TATUM. They have really gotten good!

We then met DEB at the Boulder Res. for a swim. We sure have been swimming alot lately, I think that is why TATUM'S hair is turning gross. I am thinking about cutting it :)
JED worked tonight.

I woke up this morning with a cough and a sore throat. FREAKING out because today is the day of out Summer BBQ. Luckily I was feeling better and so to work I got. I got everything ready myself because JED had to work in the morning. We had a good turn out and it was so much fun. The kids had a BLAST! I am definitely going to make it a yearly event. I just love having all my friends and their kids over.
We also got to buy some more camera stuff....do you know how much I LOVE JED working at Best Buy :) haha

Glenwood Springs (Pic Heaveny :)

We took a short vacation to Glenwood Springs, when we arrived we went on a Gondola up to the top of some mountain where a small adventure park/cave were.

Braia is so afraid of heights, poor girl!

We went under ground 150 feet :)

The kids thought it was so cool!

Part of the cave leads outside, so they built this deck, it was creepy scary, I hate heights!

Still in the cave, it was a 2 hour tour!

Tatum and Zeke got to bungie jump, Tatum was, of course, FEARLESS and Zeke jump VERY calm.

Jed lasted a while on the bull!

We swam alot, either at the hotel or at the Hot Springs

Before heading home we hiked up to Doc Holiday's Memorial Site. It was the first hike the kids have ever done and they did great!

2 Years or So

I bought this Slip'N'Slide right after we moved into our house and have YET to use...I always had an excuse to give the kids :) Well, they broke me down and I decided to open it up, it was so much fun!!

The Kid's BEGGED me to go down and so I did (not in a swimsuit) and so I sorta got STUCK hahaha but it was fun and the kid's and JED had a GREAT time!

He'll make a wife VERY happy someday :)

Summer is only Fun with Friends

We had a BBQ last weekend with some friends, it was a total blast! We pulled out all the water stuff...lit up the grill...set out some chairs...and had a great time! Here are some pictures from the party:

World in the Eyes of a Child

Zeke and Tatum have been taking an Learn to Skate (Ice) Camp this week and today I was picking up Tatum and I was telling her good she has gotten. Which she has, I mean she could NOT skate 3 days ago!! Anyways, she says...

"Mom, since I am doing so well at skating can you buy me a car?"

Me - "What do you mean, like a real car?"

"Yes, I think I deserve it for taking this class and skating so good."

We were driving home one day...a road that we drive OFTEN...and Braia says...

"Is this ALWAYS the way to our house?"

Me - "Yes, Braia our house is always on this road" hehe

A little dip please...

Those of you that REALLY know JED knows that you do NOT mess with his food. His FAV thing to eat is cheese dip and chips...and he will NOT share, he will act like you are taking the LAST of the cheese dip on the earth if you ask for a BITE!
