Camping near Glenwood Springs with Friends
DAY ONE:
Getting set up
Trying to keep Teague busy was impossible
Our spot was right off the river
Went fishing
DAY TWO:
We played in the river - that had freezing cold water
Jed tried to take Teague swimming but Tigs refused to put his legs in the water (picture below!)
Made Sa'mores
Adleigh played Uno for the first time!
Went tubing down the river/lake
Got even more dirty - didn't think it could be possible!
Didn't realize that it would be FREEZING at night and we did not pack enough blankets - super cold!

Tatum was not happy when she found out we were having hotdogs for lunch!

Not enough baby wipes could clean that dirty sweet face!

DAY THREE:
Packed up
Went to Strawberry Day's in Glenwood
Couldn't find a shower fast enough!

Why is camping so hard? It is a lot of work but so much fun! I have never seen my kids SO dirty as they were this weekend. Funny story - when we arrived I noticed that the bathrooms were basically glorified outhouses...which I still do NOT use! I told Jed that he would be driving me back to Glenwood every time I needed to go :-) Anyways, Adleigh came up to me and mentioned that she needed to go. So I walked her over to the building and opened the door. She looked in, refused to walk in and said...
" Oh, Gross!"
I laughed so hard. She immediately pushed her way by me as I told her that these were the only bathrooms they have here. She paused and turned around. So she walked back in and before I could even close the door again she looked closer to the toilet and realized that it was just a big whole and said,
"Forget this, I'll hold it!"
She is totally my child. Bad part of the story is that she had 4 "accidents" (of course I use that word loosely because she has never had an accident in the 4 years she has been potty trained!) before she FINALLY broke down and began using their toilet...I had to break down to and use it...so gross!
